Call Forwards are used to send your callers to another number, such as voicemail. There are three types of Forwards:
FORWARD-ALL (Your phone never rings, the call immediately goes to the number you've set)
FORWARD-BUSY (If you are using your phone, rather than get a busy signal the second caller is forwarded to the number you've set)
FORWARD-DON'T ANSWER (If your phone isn't answered after 4-5 rings, the caller is forwarded to the number you've set)
DTerm phones can have each of these forwards programmed on their buttons, with the added advantage that the single button both sets and cancels its Forward and the light is lit when the Forward is active. If you would like to have this feature on your DTerm, please contact us! Standard telephone users can program any forward and cancel code onto two of their speeddial buttons if available.
To set, lift handset and dial:
FWD-ALL #2 (listen for three tones then dialtone) then dial the number you want your calls to forward to (listen for three tones) and hang up.
FWD-BSY #3 (listen for three tones then dialtone) then dial the number you want your calls to forward to (listen for three tones) and hang up.
FWD-DA #6 (listen for three tones then dialtone) then dial the number you want your calls to forward to (listen for three tones) and hang up.
If you attempt to set a forward but get a busy signal after entering the two-digit code, you already have a forward set and must cancel it before you can set a new forward.
To cancel a forward to re-set or return your phone to normal service, lift the handset and dial:
FWD-ALL *2 (listen for three tones) and hang up.
FWD-BSY *3 (listen for three tones) and hang up.
FWD-DA *6 (listen for three tones) and hang up.
If you attempt to cancel a forward but get a busy signal after entering the two-digit code, you didn't have a forward set.
You can forward calls to off-campus numbers. When setting the forward, enter the number as you would when dialing directly. If forwarding to a Long Distance number, your number will be billed for the Long Distance call.
