Microsoft 365: Changes to Third-Party App Access

Summary

Due to a recent Microsoft update, certain third-party add-ons, plugins, and apps will no longer work with Office apps.

Body

Overview

Microsoft has recently updated its policies for Microsoft 365. As a result, there are some changes to how you can use certain third-party add-ons, plugins, and apps with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Teams.

What’s Changing?

  • You will still be able to use approved enterprise applications like Zoom, Salesforce, Calendly, Slack, RingCentral, and Acrobat Reader.
  • However, individual apps such as Grammarly and Skylight will not be added or integrated with Microsoft 365 at this time.
  • If you’re already using a third-party plugin, you can continue using it. These changes apply only to new requests to add apps.

Need Access to an Enterprise App?

If you need access to an enterprise application that isn’t currently approved, please submit a request online, and UTM IT Services will review your ticket.
