Recommended Computer Configuration

ITS recommended minimum specifications for students looking to purchase a new computer for course work.

Desktop, Laptop, Mini, or Tablet

• Processor: Intel Core™ i5 Processor or newer (Preferably 13th generation or newer)
• Memory: 8 GB or more
• Operating System: Windows 11 or OS X Sonoma or Similar
• Hard Disk Drive: 500 GB or more
• Web Cam: Recommended for Zoom Sessions
• Storage/Media: USB Ports, Flash Drive, DVD+-RW with software
• Network Adapter: 10/100/1000 Ethernet Adapter integrated
• Wireless Network Adapter: WiFi 5 or better

Software

• Antivirus Software Recommended: Windows Defender
• Application Software: Office 365 is offered to students currently enrolled at no additional cost! 

Note: Engineering and Graphic Design students should check with the Department Chair or course instructor before purchasing a specific machine for their major.
