Managing AirGroup Discovery Devices

Issue/Question

  • How can I stream to my streaming media player (AppleTV, Roku, Google Play)?

Environment

  • Streaming devices in dorms, classrooms, offices, or other locations on campus. 

Cause

  • All devices have to be registered on the network to work for each individual user. 

Resolution

1. Go to airgroup.utm.edu and login using the same username and password you use for the UT Martin Portal

2. Select "Create Device"

3. Enter a description name of your streaming media player, the MAC Address of the device and select Enable AirGroup

4. Type the username of any user you would like to also be able to cast to your device in the "Shared with" box. For example, if you would like your roommates to be able to cast, you will need to list their usernames.  

5. Select "Create Device"
