Issue/Question

• Older printer keeps throwing error code.

Environment

• Older printers

Cause

• Bad print job

Resolution

• Unplug all the connections except the power and make sure it turns on normally
• If it does, print a report page from the printer, like system configuration
• Check the print queue on the computer, cancel all documents in the queue, as they might be causing the issue
• Once you have confirmed it is not an issue with the printer, and the print queue is empty, try printing a test page. If it prints the test page there was just a bad print job in the queue.

Notes

• If you can print a simple test page, but it messes up trying to print something bigger, see how much memory the printer has. Because old printers can have very little memory and can’t handle large print jobs.
