How secure is data on documents scanned to email from a multifunction device?
Scanned documents leave our control once they are sent to the Microsoft Exchange (email) server, and while there are security measures in place, such as encryption, this is not as secure as a direct tunnel connection. Also, because of the variety of Multifunction Devices across campus, certain devices are going to be less secure.
For general non-sensitive data, the security of scan to email is sufficient and is as secure as most email.
